March Speaker
Mike Habrat, Fisheries Specialist for the West Metro MN DNR, will be our guest to present the ongoing Leech Lake genetic study to estimate the population in the lake. Scales from 100 muskies were submitted by muskie anglers to the DNR to aid in the study. This will be a great chance to learn how the DNR estimates muskie populations in natural lakes and foster our relationship with the DNR.

It's good information for us to have when talking to someone that might not be so keen on adding new muskie lakes in Minnesota. We need to do our part to gently sway them to our side! Members Only Contest Fish Registrations Please note, all fish to be counted for the North Metro Members Only Contest for any award, must be entered by December 5th, 2009. This includes fish eligible for the replicas for the Largest Release in the Adult and Juniors Divisions, and the top anglers in any of the divisions.
