Beginning July 1, a law goes into effect that makes it mandatory for boaters and anglers to drain live wells, bait wells, bilges and removing any drain plugs before leaving a lake and transporting a watercraft on a public road. The old law required that this be done only when leaving water already classified as infested. The new regulation now requires that everything be drained even if a body of water is not infested with invasive species. In other words, pull your boat plug when you leave the ramp regardless if it rains or your boat leaks. Some office chatter at the DNR suggests enforcement will be specifically looking for this.
Don't forget to post your League Night participation on the message board under "General Discussions"..
Muskie Stocking FAQ Check out this LINK to the DNR FAQ page on muskie stocking. It's good information for us to have when talking to someone that might not be so keen on adding new muskie lakes in Minnesota. We need to do our part to gently sway them to our side!
